Getting it off my chest....

Today while parusing (??) through my google reader in an attempt to conquer the items not read number, I came across Mama Loco's Hello I'm pissed off post. (see it, above us, right there...yeah that sticky). She writes what bothers, er rather pisses, her off.

And you know what?

Today I am.

And I'm gonna release.

About just ONE thing.

Back story...

My husband and I work opposite schedules. Which make for prime no babysitting options, which saves us a butt load of money.

I have day duty and he has night duty. I wish it were the other way around. HE says HE has the crappy end of the stick....WHAT? He has a normal day at work (in the morning) and gets to go to bed with the kid at a normal human time of sleep. Mommy here is up from 7ish in the morning until about 1 am on work day. Sometimes NO nap! I know, I know the violins are coming in loud and clear.

Okay to the pissed off part of the post (what, the above wasn't?).

The last 2 nights I've come home, he's let our child strew her toys, shoes, blankets, and whatever else a little child can do (while her daddy plays on the computer...a-hole),

AND

(here's the pissed off part because puhlease...all kids are tornado's, the viscous cycle of clean, they mess it up, we clean again, they mess it up, again. It's part of parenting...)

leaves it for ME to clean after an almost 12 hour work shift. There is no STRAIGHT path to anywhere from the front door into our home. The only path I saw would be to walk back to the car and drive to a hotel with room service and barricade myself up in there.

(but, I have kid duty in the morning)

So, I mumble profanities about dear old man of my life.

And "reset" the house.

Bastard.

Thanks Mama Loco for letting me unload. My bloggy pals...you need to unload? Grab her badge, visit her site and link up...

And hubby, if you choose today to read this post. You can SUCK IT! (That all caps allowed right Mama Loco? :) )

I think you have the right to be pissed off! I do..really. My husband and I run the same schedule. Except he works nights and I days! I am guilty of doing exactly what your hubby did to my hubby..only to have him do it to me once. I was begging for forgiveness! As if working and parenting isn't hard enough. Its tough to have to pick up the slack where the other parent is not giving it their all. Lets hope a good kick will get things back in order!

I feel for ya..and hopefully getting it off your chest helped!

I can't really offer any advice, not having any kids of my own. But if you are working longer hours, it does seem fair that the chores might need to be balanced proportionately. Have you talked to him about it before (I mean, this blog post isn't going to be a surprise, right?)?

she said, "SUCK IT". that's hilarious mary. you should have stayed on the phone with me. we could've done breathing exercises and gone to your happy place together. we'll have to get together for why our husbands can SUCK IT venting sessions soon. in the meantime...luv ya.

Men are such turds at times. Mine is out of town for a few days...by choice. He COULD make the hour long drive back and forth but it's so much more fun to stay at his sister's place, go eat out at Hooter's, and have a generally dandy, kid-free, time. Thanks, jerk-face.

Mmmm, suck it. One of the best sayings ever. It comes in quite handy for all situations I believe. Well sorry for the crappy night. =( Hey, at least we have nice weather. Imagine if you have to shovel after all that work!

Yep, Hubby needs to get with the program and help out a bit more. No one wants to do the cleaning... it would be great if we all had a maid and a butler to do our dirty work... but we live in the real world, right? I'd say make the dude a list of what he can do, then show him you have a list for yourself as well. Certain things should be done on certain days, and then there are the things that are daily duties, like picking up after your little one. Then I would remind him that we all have to do our part out of respect and a sense of duty. Laziness won't cut it. All my best to you my friend in working this out!

I think you should pop off some of his keys on his keyboard and putt them back to spell JERK where the FGHJ buttons are! I don't think he would notice for at least a week, unless he sucks at typing, in which case he will look very closely at the keyboard and "Instant Message"...DO it, I will walk you through it. call me.

AMEN TO THAT!!!!!! I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooo on board with you! I wonder sometimes about stuffing carrots in his nose while he sleeps, just so ya know he kinda feels suffocated for a minute, because that's how I feel when he doesn't help me clean!!!!!

LOL!!!! Yes he can sooooo SUCK IT!!! I don't get why they think they're exempt from house work!

Thanks for playing. Same place, same time next week? :P
