Things that Piss me off at the Movies...

Mama Loco
Okay....it's time for me to share some pet peeves.

Please join Mama Loco over at her place and link up. She gives you total permission to get pissed off wild.

Movie Etiquette
As adhered to by the Rambler

  • At least have some idea when you get to the counter what movie you want. Haven't you seen the trailers? Isn't that why your here? Why are you asking the ticket lady what movie is good?
  • Make sure you have your form of payment in a 5 second or less arm length away.
  • When you go to the condiment counter....BE READY. Nothing sucks more then hitting that smaller line only to discover you've hit the "All UNDECIDED NON EXPRESS LINE"
  • Repeat form of payment rule.
  • Turn the damn cell phone on vibrate. OR even better. OFF. And if you need to take the call. Could you possibly take it......OUTSIDE? Seriously, I don't want to know how your brother in laws girlfriends sister's kid took first at his poetry contest. I paid a gazillion dollars to watch a movie that I don't get to partake in much.
  • Speaking of how much the movies cost....COME ON.
  • And you loud talkers. I don't need to know if you think the actress is smoking hot or "NO, Don't Go In There, It's Scary!"....that should only be heard at Disney movies with my 2 year old.
  • Lastly....am glad this has stopped somewhat....but you annoying red laser light thing people. It's.Not.Funny.It's. Annoying!
Whew....thanks Mama Loco. I needed that one.

Those are all SO true.

SO. TRUE.

My biggest - biggest! - pet peeve is the loud talkers. Then again, that doesn't just apply to movies.

My favorite is the people who think what they're saying is SO funny that the whole theatre needs to hear it.

AWESOME.

My biggest pet peeve are the people that chew their popcorn with their mouth open so you get ALL the sound affects and then follow it up by loudly slurping their drink. I HATE loud food noises (and I am a loud person...but I do eat quietly). It makes me CRAZY in those few moments before the movie starts and there isn't anything playing - and all you hear is CHOMP..CHOMP...CHOMP...SLURRRRRRP. Blech.

Ok first, it's sad, but I'm trying to REMEMBER the last time I went to the movies! Oh.my. Since last spring maybe?

And maybe it's because of all the things you mentioned...lol

Totally agree with ya, girl. Thanks for playing this week.

You forgot one. Don't bring your screaming toddler to an R-rated movie. This happened last week to us. We went to see Watchmen and had to hear a kid cry off and on for two hours.

You must have read my mind! What is up with people?!? It's like Morons R Us at the movies.
I get the discount movie tix at Cost.co so I don't have to hock jewelry to see a movie.

I LOVE this post! How about those folks that think constantly tapping the back of your seat with their foot is ok? NOT. lol. (Visiting from SITS.)

I agree! The last time Mr B and I were at the cinema a herd of teenagers sat at the back were so noisy and rude. They giggled and shouted their way through the first 1/2 hour and then trooped out (and it took them about 5 minutes of tramping to get out there were so many of them). We got free tickets from the manager for that visit!

I don't see many movies these days, but when I do, I feel the same way. Come on people.

Have a nice day.

I totally agree! And LOL at "All UNDECIDED NON EXPRESS LINE"! My hubby teases me that I have a knack for always picking the slowest line full of idiots. Come on over and share my rant!

All true! I ALWAYS sit in the very back row so that the brats don't kick the back of my seat.

If only everyone would read this post.... :)
Love your header. Way too cute!!!

I hate people who chew popcorn so loud that you can hear it 5 rows away. Also the ones that share across 4 people "psstt... give me the popcorn Cindy wants more..."

It's been so long since I've been to a movie, that I don't remember what annoys me. Seriously, last movie I saw in theaters was Mr. & Mrs. Smith. That was what, 6 Brangelina babies ago?

Texting in the theatre is also annoying for the light from the cell is like a strobe light in the theatre.

One of my favorites when working at the Mililani theatres was when a show was posted as being "sold out," people would walk up and ask "is it really sold out?"

Great list!

Movie theaters need to print this out and distribute it to people when they buy their tickets!

People still use laser lights? Seriously?

Lisa said...

This is funny!

Because I'm a grouch, the one thing that really annoys me is when people clap at the end of movies. Who, exactly, are they clapping for? ;)

Yea, how about texting through the movie. Now I admit, I have received a text during a movie..but it's usually the babysitter, and I have to read it...QUICKLY of course, to make sure all is well. I never respond and I put it away super quickly. AND I shield the light so no one else has to be annoyed.

I'm telling you, people text and text during movie. DIdnt you just pay $8 to watch this movie. WATCH IT!

And what about all the loud popcorn chewing? Didnt your mom teach you to chew with your mouth closed????
